I’m not quite sure where I came across this nugget of fascinating information but I learned this week that there is a completely unexplored and inhabited island about 1,000km off the East Coast of India.

Containing a tribe of between 50 and 500 Sentilese (the forest is so thick we don’t know) they have an unhealth habit of firing arrows at helecopters and killng fisherman.

Thought to be the last people on Earth to have no contact with modern day humans the Indian goverment have now banned anyone from going withing 3km of the island to try and protect them. The likelihood is the tribe will not have built up any immunity to common diseases such as flu and measles so an outbreak could spell the end for them.
